Juicy Designs for a Cure

For 75 years, Lancôme has known that a woman’s beauty goes beyond appearances, which is why a stylish campaign featuring the iconic Juicy Tube lipgloss and supporting the Breast Cancer Research Trust launches this winter.

Lancôme’s aptly named Juicy Designs for a Cure sees the who’s who of New Zealand fashion – the Trust’s Patron Trelise Cooper and Ambassador Karen Walker, plus Helen Cherry, Ruby, Stolen Girlfriends Club, and Zambesi – each design a collectable scarf to complement their favourite Juicy Tube lipgloss. The scarf design is repeated on limited edition Juicy Tube packaging.

Lancôme, consumers and retailers are all contributing with 20 per cent of the $50 retail price from each purchase helping fund Breast Cancer Research Trust’s research projects with the aim to raise $80,000.

“Lancôme is one of the globe’s most research-focused beauty companies so the partnership between Lancôme and Breast Cancer Research Trust makes perfect sense,” says Lancôme’s communications manager, Tanya Abbott. “We are proud to be part of New Zealand’s quest for a breast cancer cure.”

Breast Cancer Research Trust Chief Executive Tony Moffatt says “the support of corporate partners such as Lancôme is absolutely vital for our researchers to continue their life-changing work.

“We are New Zealand’s only not-for-profit organisation established solely to fund research into a cure for breast cancer and will ensure that all the hard earned funds are used in the most effective way possible to bring about a cure.”

Ambassador and one of the chosen designers, Karen Walker says supporting a cause is made all the more easy when it is coupled with a covetable lipgloss and designer scarf.

“Juicy Tubes are the favourite lipgloss of women all around the world - myself included. I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to team up with Lancôme to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Trust and I’m sure fans of Juicy Tubes throughout the country will grab this opportunity to make a difference both to our research and their lips!”

The designers involved and their favorite Juicy Tubes products featuring in the offer are:
Helen Cherry – Fraise • Karen Walker – Caramel Gospel • Ruby –  Marshmallow Electro • Stolen Girlfriends Club – Melon • Trelise Cooper – Péche • Zambesi – Toffee R&B.

Lancôme Juicy Tubes with designer packaging and scarves are on sale from June 22 until August 10 and the products are available exclusively through Lancôme counters nationwide at Smith & Caughey, Life Pharmacy and Farmers, as well as at the designers’ stores.

Hair in need of a cure?

The fight against breast cancer is being bolstered by one of the New Zealand style industry’s biggest brands.

Rodney Wayne is behind ‘Ritual for a Cure’, a six week multi-faceted campaign beginning in April. The campaign aims to raise at least $40,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Trust, which will go towards our goal of finding a cure for breast cancer within the next 10 years.

Rodney Wayne salons nation-wide are inviting clients to experience a ‘heavenly’ in-salon Kérastase ‘Ritual Cure’, which can also be matched with one of three Kérastase ‘Home Care Cures’ specific to dull, dry or damaged hair.

Clients who choose one of the Home Care Cures also receive a handbag with signature Saben-designed print. For every in-salon ritual bought, Rodney Wayne salons will donate $3 to the breast cancer cure cause or 10 per cent of the purchase price of any Kérastase Home Care Cure.

Breast Cancer Research Trust Ambassador Petra Bagust says the promotion is about pampering yourself while helping others.

”If ever we needed a good reason to treat ourselves, Ritual for a Cure is it! Not only will your hair look and feel truly fabulous, you will be helping the Breast Cancer Research Trust find a cure for breast cancer in the next decade.”

Rodney Wayne feels strongly about the cause.

“We supported the Breast Cancer Research Trust in 2008 and raised more than $20,000 but we are determined to outdo last year’s figure. Ladies know the magic behind a great handbag or hairdo. Now the feel-good factor is doubled by the knowledge that you’re helping to stop breast cancer in its tracks.”

For the in-salon ritual, a Rodney Wayne stylist diagnoses each client’s scalp and hair needs then prescribes a personalised Ritual for a Cure. The Ritual involves double cleansing of the hair with a wonderfully relaxing massage, followed by an exclusive in salon treatment which is milked into the hair to treat hair deep down.

The Kérastase Home Care Cures comprise of one cleanse and one care product each for dry, damaged or dull hair, and range in price between $80 and $98.

Ritual for a Cure is supported by Rodney Wayne and Kérastase in aid of the Breast Cancer Research Trust and runs from April 20 until the end of May. Visit www.rodneywayne.co.nz to find your nearest salon, treat yourself and join Petra in supporting the campaign.

The Breast Cancer Research Trust’s partnership – ‘Ritual for a Cure’ with Rodney Wayne and Kerastase – was a great success in 2008.

The two month campaign saw supporters across the country visit Rodney Wayne salons to enjoy a blissful Ritual for a Cure experience tailored to suit individual needs and using the best in Kérastase technology. A Rodney Wayne stylist diagnosed each client’s scalp and hair needs then prescribed a personalized Ritual for a Cure. A Ritual involves double cleansing of the hair with a wonderfully relaxing massage, followed by an exclusive in salon treatment which is milked into the hair to treat hair deep down.

Look out for this year's 2009 campaign from April and treat yourself while raising money for The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
