Glassons 2007 T-shirt Range
'Kiss Off' Breast Cancer

The 2007 Glassons T-shirt sales raised $510,000 towards the The Breast Cancer Research Trust's search for a new, brighter, breast cancer-free future. The Trust relies on donations to help fund ongoing research into the disease and the Glassons Breast Cancer Research Trust T-Shirts campaign has helped to raise a total of $2,710,000 over the last five years.
In 2007 newcomers, Ruby and Cybèle, joined fashionistas Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Zambesi and Trelise Cooper who have lent their considerable talents to the campaign for a number of years. The stunning range of t-shirts were on sale nationwide from February to May only through Glassons stores. For the first time the range included muscle-back singlets and these proved hugely popular. Glassons donated $10 of the $29.95 from every sale to The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
2007 T-Shirt Designs
Karen Walker – Happy Hearts
A dozen colourful hearts adorn Karen’s t-shirt design which was chosen to epitomise happiness, positiveness and sending out love.
“Hearts project a really positive feminine image that reflect love and kisses to everyone involved in the campaign but most particularly, those fighting breast cancer,” says Karen Walker.
Trelise Cooper – Birds of a Feather
An image of two elegant swans adorns Trelise Cooper’s design entitled ‘Birds of a Feather’.
Because swans commit to each other for life, Trelise says they symbolize the coming together with love and with heart to conquer breast cancer.
Zambesi – Wings Of Desire
Zambesi’s 2007 BCRT T-shirt design illustrates two expansive wings which symbolise an enveloping, protective cloak, a safe haven, and also the desire to fly, to soar with freedom, and to journey towards a new goal.
“With collective thought, desire and commitment, our wish for a time when people will not have to battle this disease is brought ever closer,” says Liz Findlay.
Cybèle – Chain Heart
Derived and modified from Cybèle key motif from her Winter 07 collection, the chain link is like an armoured breast plate representing strength and protection.
In her 2007 BCRT T-shirt design, Cybele has modified the chain link into a heart shape as an age-old and universal symbol of love.
Ruby – Smoking Guns
Ruby chose guns as the main icon for her 2007 BCRT t-shirt design which symbolises shooting away the sadness associated with cancer.
The combination of the stars, hearts, flowers & horses create the illusion of smoke which remains after the guns have been fired and represents hope for a happier place for those affected by breast cancer.
Kate Sylvester – Kissing Angel Fish
Designing the BCRT t-shirt each year gives Kate Sylvester a chance to sit back and consider something that makes her happy.
This year, she’d just returned from an amazing family holiday in Vanuatu where the long sunny days were full of snorkeling.
Kate has captured the beauty and freedom discovered in this magical world with her 2007 BCRT T-shirt design, ‘kissing angel fish’.
