Top NZ Designers think Cure for 2010 Glassons Breast Cancer Research Trust T-shirts

A commitment to find a cure for breast cancer by 2018 saw top Kiwi fashion designers rally together for the 2010 Glassons Breast Cancer Research Trust T-shirt campaign.

The eighth year of the campaign has now drawn to a close, with Karen Walker, Trelise Cooper, Zambesi, Cybele, Stolen Girlfriends Club and campaign newcomer Lonely Hearts’ striking “Become a Superhero” themed T-shirt designs raising $270,000 towards critical research into the disease.

Glassons and Breast Cancer Research Trust have been collaborating on the extremely successful T-shirt campaign, raising an impressive $3.7 million for the Trust to date.

The aim has always been to find a cure for breast cancer in this lifetime.
However, last year Breast Cancer Research Trust made a commitment to fast forward progress to find a cure for breast cancer by 2018.

“It’s an ambitious but crucial goal,” says Breast Cancer Research Trust CEO,
Tony Moffatt.  “But as one in eight New Zealand women will now be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and 660 die of it every year, our work becomes increasingly urgent.”

“Funds raised are allocated to only the most outstanding and visionary research and researchers in New Zealand,” explains Moffatt.

“The Glassons T-shirt campaign is a significant part of our fundraising efforts and the next few years are more important than ever for our cause, so we’re extremely grateful to everyone who supported the campaign.”

T-shirts were $29.99, with Glassons donating $10 from every sale of the designer T-shirts and singlets to the Breast Cancer Research Trust’s vital work.
