Trelise Cooper's Retro Roamer up for Auction

The coolest caravan in New Zealand is up for grabs, with all proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Trust.
After much admiration throughout the summer while it has been on display at various Holiday Parks nationwide, the customised caravan will be auctioned via a tender process running from 3 to 31 March 2011, starting at the Camper Care Motorhome & Caravan Show to be held at Claudelands Events Centre, Hamilton from 3 – 6 March as part of their new Kiwi Ingenuity Area.
“The caravan is part of our Kiwi history and is an iconic element of the NZ summer holiday. This travelling time capsule will be an investment, a fun asset to your family’s history and will aid breast cancer research,” says Tony Moffatt, CEO of the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust.
The interior and exterior of the single-axle caravan were designed by fashion icon Trelise Cooper, Patron of the Breast Cancer Research Trust, which hopes to find a cure for breast cancer by 2018.
The renovations were undertaken free of charge by West Auckland’s Moselle Panel and Paint who has also had a long-standing relationship with the charity.
The retro, mint-green, polka-dotted caravan features a flower box on the back and a red bike from the era attached to the front.
“Placing a bid on this iconic piece will mean joining the fight to find a cure for breast cancer,” says Moffatt. “New Zealand has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the world, so a cure has never been more needed.”
